FIRST CONCRETE POUR MARKS A BIG STEP FORWARD FOR CROSSPOINT’S BUILDING #4

The first section of a concrete pour represents a significant milestone in the birth of any new spec industrial building!  Charleston Industrial is very proud to show off our newest offering at Crosspoint, located in North Charleston’s Palmetto Commerce Industrial Park.  Our foundation flooring is going down as we take advantage of the dry weather and excellent conditions for new construction.

Of course, we already have one Class A facility at Crosspoint with 182,000 square feet fully leased. The recent announcement by The Boeing Company secured the final remaining vacancy at Crosspoint Building #1 for the initial Boeing Research & Technology facility in South Carolina!

Just recently, we cleared the acreage and have begun pouring the concrete which will provide the foundation for Crosspoint Building #4.  With very similar dimensions as our first building, this Class A  industrial spec building will be much larger and house 273,000 square feet for our industrial clients!   And we are very excited to watch it grow.  Building 4 will be located directly across Sightline Drive from the new Boeing Research & Technology center.

The Charleston industrial real estate sector is a dynamic one.  And believe it or not, seeing concrete being poured always gives us a thrill….. it’s akin to watching your child take her first steps.  There are many exciting milestones along the eight-month path to completion, including seeingthe first steel columns standing on site and the tilt wall panels being moved into place. Perhaps the only other more exciting time in building a spec structure is the final ribbon cutting and the opening of its doors, when one of our tenants provides new jobs for our region and its people.

Here are some recent pictures to give you a glimpse of the first concrete being poured at Crosspoint #4.  Fortunately, the weather has been accommodating the pouring which is essential to delivering the building on schedule.  Once the floor is poured, this allows the rest of the building to be established without weather being as much of a factor.  Stay tuned and we’ll give you updates as these baby steps evolve into a brand new 273,000 square feet of the best industrial building in Charleston!

It’s an exciting time at Crosspoint!
