MIKE WHITE’S URBAN LAND INSTITUTE SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT
On September 29 Michael White, Broker-in-Charge of Charleston Industrial, LLC was a featured panelist at the 6th annual Urban Land Institute Capital Markets Conference. This event was held at the Sanctuary Hotel in Kiawah Island, SC and featured a host of leading real estate investors, lenders, and developers. This conference is a unique opportunity for connecting with equity and debt capital sources and gaining insights into the latest finance and investment trends.
The Urban Land Institute is an organization that is dedicated to developing leadership in the responsible use of land in order to create and sustain living communities worldwide. It was founded over 75 years ago and the ULI South Carolina has a number of local initiatives that are making a difference in the communities. Mike was honored to be included in the afternoon session titled, “The Industrial Sector” moderated by Matt Good, Vice President of Capital Advisors. Other panelists on the dais with Mike were Hal Johnson, Chief Development Officer of NAI Earle Furman and Perry Major, Vice President of the The Covington Group.
Some of the topics Mike and the other panelists covered were the current state of the industrial market, forecasts for the rest of the decade and beyond, and the impact Boeing has made in the local area. This well attended one hour session was informative to the attendees and a number of interesting questions were raised to the panelists. Mike also attended many of the other break out sessions and panel discussions and was able to gain a deeper perspective of how successful deals are structured. He plans on using many of the insights he gleaned at the conference to make Charleston Industrial an even stronger advocate for their clients. Attending informative programming conferences such as these helps Charleston Industrial and their clients by giving us the tools to focus on what works, how new partners can be developed, and most importantly how to make deals successful for everyone involved.
Sir Francis Bacon, the father of empiricism which asserts that knowledge is based on experience, was famous for his quote – “Knowledge is power.” We at Charleston Industrial believe in this credo and are constantly striving for more information to better serve our client base. This ULI Conference was one more step in that direction.
